VACATION PARK Development
Project Completed in January 2023!
This exciting new family park features a pump track with bleachers, a playground, shaded picnic area, walking trails with fitness stations, restrooms, and natural landscaping that, once mature, will create a serene atmosphere.
Pump Track Use
Pump Track Use
The pump track will be open for use on August 31. All riders must complete a waiver and receive decals for their non-motorized personal devices (i.e. bicycles, skateboards, scooters, etc.) prior to using the pump track. Completed forms need to be returned to the Canyon Lake POA's Member Services office where decals will also be issued. In the very near future, we will be requiring POA cards to enter the gate to the pump track. If your children do not already have POA cards, this is a great time to get them one!

Project Scope
Project Scope
The City of Canyon Lake has approved the plans for the development of Vacation Park (formerly known as Sierra Park North). This project will encompass preparing the land area by grading, adding retaining walls, storm water retention, and utilities. Additionally, this project includes adding a new access drive and parking area. The park design incorporates many family-oriented amenities, including a pump track for bicyclists and skateboarders, shaded picnic areas, children's playground area, loop trails with fitness stations, restrooms, and an abundance of natural landscaping to create a serene atmosphere.
Why is it called a pump track? The name “pump track” comes from the pumping motion used by the rider's upper and lower body as they ride around the track. The idea of a pump track is to use this pumping motion to maintain your speed around the track without pedaling. Pump tracks can be ridden by cyclists of all ages and skill levels. Project Benefits
Canyon Lake is a diverse suburban community with a unique family-oriented culture. Vacation Park (formerly known as Sierra Park North) has been a noticeably undeveloped area in the community that has the potential to be an extraordinary amenity for all ages.
The design plan would transform Vacation Park (formerly known as Sierra Park North) into a family park amenity equipped with a new bicycle pump track, a shaded children’s playground area, shaded picnic areas with tables and barbecues, and loop trails with fitness stations. The area will meet current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards and also include restrooms, ample parking spaces, and sidewalks.
Project Timeline
Estimates for this project are in excess of $1,500,000 for the entire project. The Canyon Lake POA Bylaws, as currently written, restrict the spending of more than $800,000 on one project in a two-year period. To proceed with this project, it was included on the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Members & Election of Directors ballot. The measure passed by a majority vote. Work began on this project in July 2021, the entire topography of the existing land area will change to accommodate this new family park, making it a long-range project anticipated to be completed in late summer 2022.
