Susan Dawood

Susan Dawood is a seasoned finance professional with an extensive accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting background. As the head of the accounting and finance department at Canyon Lake POA, she oversees all the association's financial reporting and performance functions. During her tenure, she has successfully improved accounting procedures and internal controls, managed treasury functions, and overseen fund and project accounts, in addition to managing the annual financial audit.

Susan's achievements at the Canyon Lake POA include serving as Project Lead for successfully implementing new accounting software, which streamlined financial reporting for 19 departments and integrated company financial data with an online member interface. Before joining the Canyon Lake POA, Susan served as a Financial Analyst for a multi-state healthcare organization where she oversaw a $72 million budget process for two divisions. Her responsibilities included monitoring and controlling Medicare billing and cost tracking to ensure profitability in a challenging environment. In this role, she conducted complex analytic financial functions using an extensive database to design and compile financial reports that provided useful performance metrics for investors.

Susan has also worked in an international environment overseeing financial reporting and staff for 60 renewable energy windmill farms. Her experience in this role included public investor reporting for a foreign-owned company, interpretation and application of data from Power Purchase Agreements and Financial Derivatives, and GAAP accounting conversions to IFRS accounting for financial reporting.

Prior to her work in healthcare and renewable energy, Susan spent several years in public accounting, where she gained experience in financial reporting requirements, tax, and payroll. Industries served included manufacturing, energy, medical, and professional corporations. Her achievements in public accounting included specialization in the design and implementation of accounting and cost-tracking software systems for clients.

Susan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Her extensive experience and qualifications make her a valuable asset to any organization.
