Seal Coating Project

Year 1

Please be advised that several of the streets will be seal-coated beginning Thursday, May 2, through Friday, May 17. Seal coating protects and extends the life of asphalt pavements by applying a protective sealant that helps to prevent oxidation, weather damage, and wear from traffic.

Hours of Closure

Affected streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on their designated days, with temporary street closure and no parking signs posted in the work area 48 hours before work begins.

Restricted Access

During the seal coating of your street, there will be no street access to or from your residence. Vehicles need to be off the street of the portion notified for work by 7 a.m., or they may be towed at the owner’s expense. If vehicles are left in the driveway or garage on the day of seal coating, they won't be able to access the street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you require access to a vehicle during the street closure, please park it on a street not being seal coated before work begins. Barricades and cones will be removed by the contractor once the seal coat has cured and the street is open to traffic. Mail delivery and special package delivery form UPS, FedEx, etc., may be delayed on the days that this work is being completed. Please make appropriate arrangements as needed.

Additional Information

Seal coat is a wet applied product that takes several hours to cure. Do not drive or walk on the surface until the barricades are removed, or you may damage the coating of your vehicle. Cost to clean up or reapply slurry will be the homeowner's responsibility. Normal driving on recently slurried streets may cause some tire tracks (especially at the ends of cul-de-sacs), or gouges from turning wheels while your car is not moving. However, these scuff marks do fade over time and except in severe cases do not impact the main purpose of the slurry seal.

If you require special access accommodations of any kind, please contact the Canyon Lake POA’s Operations department at 951-244-6841 x510 or email [email protected].

We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your patience during this period.
