Pool Supervisor

POSITION TITLE: Pool Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: 40 hours a week / Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays as needed.
DEPARTMENT: Pool

SALARY: $25 – $29 per hour DOE

Responsible for managing the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association's pool facilities including organizing, staffing, training, and swim instruction classes and event coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the pool facilities and utilization.
  • Hire, train, and manage the swim and instructional staff to create a positive work environment that promotes high performance, job satisfaction, and accountability.
  • Assist with managing the budget, overseeing all revenues and expenditures related to pool facilities.
  • Assist with the purchase of equipment, uniforms, and other items that may be required to manage the pool and related facilities.
  • Maintain records and reports pertaining to the facility and instructional classes.
  • Inspect pool and pool facilities for proper operation, condition, and sanitation, and notify Operations of needs for maintenance.
  • Assist monitor and enforce policies and rules for use of the pool and related facilities.
  • Process all policy and rule violations in accordance with the guidelines and procedures of the department.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with members, coworkers, and management. Keep management updated on any issues or potential problems.
  • May perform swim instruction, aerobics instruction, or pool attendant duties.
  • Assist coordination of various swim instruction activities and classes, including classes, schedules, and teachers.
  • Works very closely with the Recreation Department.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possession of the following valid American Red Cross certifications:
    • Water Safety Instructor
    • Adult, Child, Infant First Aid/CPR
    • Basic Lifeguarding
  • Two full seasons (minimum of six (6) months) experience in aquatics, supervision, and swim instruction
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License
  • Able to spend prolonged periods of time in the open sun or shade and in the pool during periods of hot temperatures, including teaching swimming or leading aerobics classes.
