Project Details
Canyon Lake residents and guests may now enjoy even more pickleball games in Canyon Lake! Two new pickleball courts at Eastport Park are now complete making a total of six courts at that park!
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is a relatively new sport but has grown rapidly in popularity in recent years. The sport has become very popular in Canyon Lake and often the current four existing courts are crowded. These two new courts will help to alleviate that problem. In addition to the new courts, the existing four pickleball courts were resurfaced. Resurfacing optimizes player performance by rejuvenating the existing courts and making them feel as new as the two additional courts will feel. The new pickleball courts are an exciting addition to Eastport Park and will provide more opportunities for Canyon Lake residents to enjoy this popular sport.
Project Approval & Funding
This project was completed within the Canyon Lake POA Board approved funding in the amount of $332,486 plus an 5% contingency from the CIP fund and $29,800 from the Reserve Fund at their March 7, 2023 Regular Session Board Meeting (view Board Action Item).

The Pickleball Courts Phase 2 Project, which adds two additional courts to the existing four courts, is wrapping up. All of the courts are currently closed through Saturday, September 30 while the new courts are painted and the existing courts are resurfaced. Resurfacing optimizes player performance by rejuvenating the existing courts and making them feel as new as the two additional courts will feel. The existing courts will reopen Sunday, October 1, and the two new pickleball courts will open on Tuesday, October 3. These additional courts will greatly enhance the playing experience for Canyon Lake residents, providing more opportunities to enjoy this popular sport.

Construction continues on the two new pickleball courts at Eastport Park. Concrete has been poured for both the courts and sidewalk. The courts are expected to be completed in the fall. Initially established in 2017, the original four courts quickly became very popular within the community. With the introduction of these two new courts, the facility will be further enhanced, ensuring increased accessibility for all members of our vibrant community.
