  • Block Out Dates: Happy Camp is blocked out for reservations during the 4th of July holiday. There is a holiday each year that awards site reservations. The dates blocked out are typically one day before the holiday and one day after, but dates may vary.  Reservations are also blocked out for Memorial and Labor Day weekends. Reservations for these holiday weekends open up 14 days in advance of the weekend and may only be made in person at Happy Camp.
  • Cancelations: Reservations canceled 15 days prior to the scheduled check-in date will be charged $25. Reservations canceled within 14 days prior to the scheduled check-in date will be charged for the first night's stay. The remainder of the payment will be refunded to the card used to make the reservation.
  • No Shows: No show reservations will be charged for the first night's stay. The remainder of the payment will be refunded to the card on file, and the remainder of the reservation will be canceled.

SEAN GARDNER

Campground Host

"I was cut from a different cloth, and they don't make that fabric anymore."

Sean Gardner is an accomplished manager with extensive experience in customer service and campground management. As the manager of Happy Camp, the beloved campground of the Canyon Lake community, Sean supervises the campground, including staff, facilities, equipment, campground reservations, and camper satisfaction.

Sean became the Campground Host in August 2020. With his background in customer service, Sean prioritizes interacting with campers, ensuring they have the best experience possible. Managing Happy Camp is no small feat, yet Sean flourishes in the busy, fast-paced field of campground management. Whether checking campers in, working the gas dock, or facilitating propane sales, Sean doesn’t hesitate to roll up his sleeves and jump in to make a smooth, fun experience for campers. The campground’s festive holiday atmosphere around events like Christmas and Easter is largely attributable to Sean’s focus on bringing fun to Happy Camp.

Sean began his career in restaurants, where he developed excellent customer service skills. After more than twenty years of working in the restaurant industry — including fixing restaurants that were no longer generating revenue — Sean took a part-time position in 2015 at a campground in Menifee. This new adventure gave him the challenge and change he needed, and his customer service skills easily transferred to working at the campground. Shortly afterward, he moved into a Property Rental Coordinator position, which allowed him to work closely with campers.

With a customer service mindset that focuses on making campers feel welcomed, Sean makes a fun and positive difference at Happy Camp, building relationships with the Canyon Lake community and everyone who visits the campground.
