The Canyon Lake Lodge was constructed in the year 2000, 23 years ago. Many of the finishes inside this building are original and very worn and dated. The bar area was last updated in 2014, over nine years ago. We hired an excellent design team to coordinate two major projects to update this facility after two decades of hard use.

The Lodge Renovation Project concluded with the impressive renovation of the Lighthouse Restaurant. Led by a professional design team, the renovation modernized the interior with local art and photography, a contemporary color palette, new furnishings, and a welcoming waiting area. The $2.9 million project was funded through Repair & Replacement Reserve and Capital Improvement funds, aimed at enhancing property value and modernizing common area amenities. Last weekend, the Lighthouse Restaurant hosted a soft opening with notable guests, including Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco and wife Denise.

The Sunset Lounge & Terrace are now open. We have received our final inspections and look forward to a grand re-opening on February 2! We can’t wait for you to see the NEW Lodge!

Exciting progress is unfolding inside the Lighthouse Restaurant! The fresh new look is in sync with the recently renovated bar and new outdoor terrace. This week we received some of the new furniture for the terrace area and the dining room, and we expect another delivery the first week in January for the lounge area. While work continues inside, the restaurant and lounge area remains closed; however, dinner is being served on the new terrace and in the bar.

This week, crews started the expansive tile work on the large dining patio at the Lodge. Indoors, the tile flooring and carpet are now complete, and the draft beer equipment will be installed next week. The bar will feature 12 beers on tap, and the outdoor service bar will have 10 beers on tap. We can’t wait for everyone to see the finished product in person, very soon!

This week, crews formed the firepit, fountain, and planter concrete caps on the patio. Next week, those concrete caps will be poured and patio tiling will start. Indoors, the granite countertops in the bar are now installed, and the floor tiling is approximately 80% complete. Bar equipment is installed and being hooked up. We are excited to share a conceptual rendering of the Canyon Lake Lodge patio! We are currently in the first phase of this project, which focuses on the exterior patio and bar area. Once complete, this space will boast a wedding arch and bandstand, beautiful landscaping, high-end lounge and dining furniture, lots of overhead shade, a new outdoor bar service window with ten beers on tap, overhead heaters and string lighting, propane firepits, and the best view in Canyon Lake! We anticipate the new patio to be complete by late spring 2023.

We’re excited to start Phase One of our renovation project at the 23-year-old Lodge! Our contractor is on the job today and starting a very aggressive schedule on the exterior Patio and Event Space project. This outside area is currently planned for completion by May. This ambitious schedule is very dependent on the weather. Work on the Bar area will start after the Frankie Ballard Concert this weekend. A temporary bar will be set up on the lounge/dance floor area while the bar area is under construction. Phase Two will be the restaurant area, and Phase Three will be the lounge/dance floor. Three phases will allow the least disruption to the restaurant and bar continuing to function throughout the construction process. The schedule is currently being finalized and completion is anticipated for Fall 2023. These projects have been in planning for nearly 5 years. They only became a reality on January 3rd, when the board approved the funding at their last meeting. Management immediately went to work value engineering (reviewing and cutting costs) and negotiating best and final pricing with 8 different bidders, and the project has now started 36 days later. The building permits currently have expiration dates in August and September, 2023.
