Introducing Electronic Voting

In October 2024, Governor Newsom signed AB 2159, making it possible for California HOAs and POAs to vote electronically for the first time ever. This exciting change is expected to make it easier for members to vote, for associations to reach quorum, and could help reduce election costs over time.

What This Means for You:

• All homeowners are automatically opted in for electronic voting.
• Prefer paper ballots? No problem! You can opt-out and continue voting by mail.

Key Dates:

• Week of Jan. 13, 2025: Look out for a letter confirming your email address for electronic voting.
• Feb. 4, 2025: Join the Open Session Board Meeting to ask our Inspector of Elections questions about electronic voting.
• Feb. 14, 2025: Deadline to opt out of electronic voting and request a paper ballot.
