Daylight Saving Time Ends This Sunday!

It's time to fall back! Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 3, so don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before bed on Saturday night.

Bingo!

Grab your daubers and get ready to shout "Bingo!" on Sunday, November 3, at the Senior Center. The buy-in is $13 for a 10-pack of bingo sheets, and two special games are available for $1 each. There is a Hot Ball opportunity, and buy-in is only $1! Doors open at 12 p.m., and calling starts at 1 p.m. sharp, so get there before the doors close. Everyone 18 or older is welcome!

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, the Lions Club hosts a bingo fundraiser event at the Senior Center.

Golf Course Reopens

The golf course and the Pro Shop reopen on Monday, November 4, ready to welcome you back for an exceptional golfing experience! As a reminder, the juvenile seedlings planted during overseeding are often still weak and must be protected from golf cart traffic. The golf carts are asked to remain on the cart paths during this time, approximately three weeks after reopening. This allows the new grass to become established before undergoing wear from golf cart traffic. We look forward to seeing you on the course!

Power Outage

Please be advised of a scheduled Southern California Edison power outage on Wednesday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that will affect Gault Field and the Equestrian Center.

Trick-or-Treating Reminders

To ensure everyone has a great time this Halloween, it's a good idea to remember a few precautions for trick-or-treaters. Encourage your trick-or-treaters to avoid costumes that hinder their vision or increase their risk of tripping. Trick-or-treaters should plan a designated route and a return time and always go trick-or-treating with parents or at least two friends. Canyon Lake does not have streetlights, so it will be dark. Trick-or-treaters should carry a flashlight and consider wearing or holding glow sticks to be more visible to drivers. Advise your trick-or-treaters to avoid running across the street or taking shortcuts through backyards. Lastly, trick-or-treaters should always practice stranger danger, never accept rides from strangers, and always avoid entering anyone's home.

Motorist Reminders

Halloween will be a very busy evening in our community with many children and families out and about after dusk. Motorists, please use caution when driving, as there will be many trick-or-treaters on the roads. Drive at a slower pace and take extra caution when backing out of driveways or making turns. Additionally, be sure to stay alert and watch for bikes, e-bikes, scooters, and skateboards on the roads.

SERVICE REMINDERS

Event Planning Toolkit

The Canyon Lake POA fosters and promotes celebrations throughout the community. However, as with any organization, we must ensure events held at our facilities follow ordinances set in place by other authoritative agencies, such as the City of Canyon Lake, Riverside County Health Department, and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), to name a few. To help members, clubs, and sponsored organizations navigate through the process of planning an event, we created an online event planning toolkit with step-by-step instructions for planning your event, links to forms, documents, and other agencies, and more!
