38th Annual Kid's Fishing Derby

The 38th Annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, September 14, is almost here! This free event, hosted by the Bassmasters Club, is for kids ages 5 to 15. Kids are allowed to fish from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Weigh-in ends sharply at 12 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. There will be complimentary hotdogs and drinks at 12 p.m., followed by awards at 1 p.m. Register by 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, online at www.clpoa.com/fishingderby or in person at Holiday Harbor.

Patriot Day Cruise

Join the Canyon Lake Yacht Club at the Holiday Harbor docks for their Patriot Day Cruise, an event of remembrance for 9/11 on Saturday, September 14, at 6:30 p.m. Open to Yacht Club members and guests, this event launches boats at 7:15 p.m. for a tour around the lake as the sun sets for an evening of reflection. Bingo!

Grab your daubers and get ready to shout "Bingo!" on Sunday, September 15, at the Senior Center. The buy-in is $13 for a 10-pack of bingo sheets, and two special games are available for $1 each. There is a Hot Ball opportunity, and buy-in is only $1! Doors open at 12 p.m., and calling starts at 1 p.m. sharp, so get there before the doors close. Everyone 18 or older is welcome!

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, the Lions Club hosts a bingo fundraiser event at the Senior Center.

City Golf Championship Tournament

The 10th annual City of Canyon Lake Golf Championship Tournament returns on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, at the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club. This two-day event, open to the public and Canyon Lake residents, includes two days of golf, cart fees, prize money, and a tournament lunch on Saturday, October 5. The tournament winner will receive a prize, along with their name engraved on the City of Canyon Lake Golf Championship Tournament trophy on display at the Country Club. Entry fees are $195 for non-annual golf members and $90 for annual golf members. The last day to register is Saturday, September 21, so register today! HarborFest 2024

The Canyon Lake Guild's HarborFest is back to deliver a day of fun starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, at Holiday Harbor Park. There will be music, food, and family fun featuring FREE concerts at the amphitheater showcasing WANTED: A Bon Jovi Tribute and Woody & The Harrelsons. Mermaids Photo Contest

Calling all shutterbugs! The Mermaids of Canyon Lake are hosting a photo contest for their 2025 Canyon Lake Calendar featuring photos of our beautiful community taken anytime in 2024. Submit your landscape, high-resolution photo to Nicole Taylor at [email protected] to be entered into the contest for a chance to win! Individual month winners will win a $50 gift certificate, while the calendar cover winner will win a $100 gift certificate. A panel of judges will choose the lucky photographs. The deadline to submit is Friday, September 27, so send in your photo today!

Senior Center Sports Stop Potluck

The Sports Stop Pub & Grill is coming to the Senior Center at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29! With an entrée dish by Sports Stop, this month's Senior Center Potluck Dinner is going to be jam-packed with mouthwatering foods. Bring appetizers or desserts to load up the tables with goodies to feast on. Seats for this event are limited, so RSVP today by calling the Canyon Lake POA Activities Department at 951.244.6841 x610. The last day to RSVP is Wednesday, September 25.

18th Annual Car Show

Calling all classic car enthusiasts! The 18th annual Canyon Lake Car Show takes place at the Canyon Lake Lodge on Saturday, October 5! Hosted by the Canyon Lake Car Club and the Canyon Lake POA, this free community event offers spectators a day to explore and appreciate hundreds of vehicles featuring classic designs that have stood the test of time, as well as modern specialty cars (pre-2005). Enjoy a burgers-and-fries special and drink specials from the Canyon Lake Lodge starting at 11 a.m. , or choose from several food vendors as the day progresses. Peruse a variety of vendor booths, and stick around for a water ski show and exciting raffles!

Download the registration form at www.clpoa.com/carshow and mail a $40 check to the Canyon Lake Car Club by Friday, September 20, to earn your spot in this classic tradition. Late registrations must be delivered in person and are subject to availability. Day-of registration will not be accepted this year. Rocktoberfest

October is around the corner, and that means it's time for the annual Canyon Lake Jr. Women's Club Rocktoberfest! On Saturday, October 12, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., have a rockin' great time at Holiday Harbor Park with local craft microbreweries, food vendors, games, live music by Steel Canyon and Relay, merchandise vendors, and more! SERVICE REMINDERS

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELMs) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters so they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map, which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.

Line Dancing

Join the excitement of our popular line dancing class led by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. With two class levels for beginners and improvers, you can find the perfect fit for your skill level. Purchase a punch card with five classes for just $20, or upgrade to 11 classes for only $40. Want to try before you commit? Attend a trial class for free! Tuesday classes are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting with a Basic Introduction from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Beginners from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesdays is the Improvers class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are held at the Canyon Lake Lodge. When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted on our ACC Notices page will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
