Paddle & Pedal Regatta

Calling all paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, and non-motorized vessels! The 12th Annual Paddle & Pedal Regatta returns to Canyon Lake on Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Indian Beach. Join the Canyon Lake Yacht Club for a fun group paddle in the East Bay. Dress Hawaiian to participate in a costume contest, with prizes for Big Kahuna (Best Adult) and Little Kahuna (Best Youth) costumes! The paddle starts immediately after the group photo at 9:30 a.m. RSVP at www.CLYCCA.org today. Interested in volunteering for this event? Hawaiian Cruise

Get your hula on at the Canyon Lake Yacht Club's Hawaiian Cruise & Tie-Up Party on Saturday, August 24, at 6:30 p.m. Load up on leis and head down to the Holiday Harbor docks for an epic luau on the lake. Boats leave the dock at 7:15 p.m. for a cruise around the lake before tying up for an evening party. Yacht Club members and guests are welcome at this event, so don't miss it! Senior Center Potluck

Do you have a favorite savory dish that everyone enjoys? Join the Senior Center Potluck on the last Sunday of this month, August 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Senior Center. After dinner, the group plays a fun dice game called LCR (Left, Center, Right), where luck determines the winner. Come and enjoy good food and company!

Community Garage Sale

Our last Community Garage Sale of the year is on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8! As you clean out those attics and closets, pile all those old goodies aside and sign up to have a garage sale. This weekend event community sale allows residents to have a garage sale without obtaining a garage sale permit. All items must be removed from the front lot by 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 8. Residents with items in the front lot that are in violation of the Rules & Regulations may be subject to violations. The last day to sign up to be on our interactive map is Friday, August 30.

Garage sales held on alternative dates must still obtain a garage sale permit and follow the Rules & Regulations related to garage sales, so sign up today at www.clpoa.com/communitysale.

Movie at the Pool

Looking for another outdoor movie night? Want to beat the heat? Don't miss out on the summer's last Movie at the Pool on Saturday, August 31, at the Canyon Lake Lodge! Cool off at the pool while a family friendly movie plays on the big screen. The movie starts approximately at dusk.

This month's flick is Marmaduke, starring a lovable, clutzy Great Dane whose suburban family moves to a new neighborhood. Wreaking havoc in his own oblivious way, Marmaduke helps his family adjust to their new lives while struggling to fit in with his new pals at the dog park.

Chayce Beckham Replacing Colt Ford

Reminder, Chayce Beckham has replaced Colt Ford as the headliner for our November 2 Concerts at the Lodge. Tickets purchased for Colt Ford's concert will be valid for Chayce Beckham's performance with no further action required. If you prefer a refund, please visit here. The last day to get a refund for Colt Ford is Friday, August 30. Additional tickets for the Chayce Beckham concert can be purchased here.

Maui Sunday

Maui Sunday is back on Sunday, September 1! Embrace the aloha spirit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Discover the magic of Maui Sunday — an enduring community tradition infused with Hawaiian flair. With water slides, DJ entertainment, lawn games, airbrush painters, a tide pool, and food vendors Baja Shrimp, Tiki Treats, Big Easy, and Kona Ice, Maui Sunday is the perfect finale of a summer-packed event season. The Lodge will also be offering a Hawaiian-themed menu from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. At 7 p.m., the community is invited down to Sunset Beach to watch a performance by professional Polynesian dancers.

9/11 Tribute Event

Join us for Patriot Day on Wednesday, September 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Canyon Lake Lodge for a heartfelt 9/11 Tribute. This evening is dedicated to honoring the memories of those we lost and to show our unwavering support for our Veterans and First Responders.

38th Annual Kid's Fishing Derby
- Registration Open -

Registration for the 38th Annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, September 14, is now open! This free event, hosted by the Bassmasters Club, is for kids ages 5 to 15. Register yours today at www.clpoa.com/fishingderby.

Kids are allowed to fish anywhere on the lake from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Weigh-in ends sharply at 12 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. There will be complimentary hotdogs and drinks at 12 p.m., followed by awards at 1 p.m. Interested in sponsoring? 18th Annual Car Show
- Registration Open -

Calling all classic car enthusiasts! Registration for the 18th annual Canyon Lake Car Show on Saturday, October 5, is open! Download the registration form at www.clpoa.com/carshow and mail a $40 check to the Canyon Lake Car Club by Friday, September 20, to earn your spot in this classic tradition. Late registrations must be delivered in person and are subject to availability. Day-of registration will not be accepted this year. Registered cars receive a show T-shirt and dash plaque and have a chance to win a coveted Canyon Lake Car Show award.

Hosted by the Canyon Lake Car Club and the Canyon Lake POA, this free community event offers spectators a day to explore and appreciate hundreds of vehicles featuring classic designs that have stood the test of time, as well as modern specialty cars (pre-2005). Enjoy a burgers-and-fries special and drink specials from the Canyon Lake Lodge starting at 11 a.m. , or choose from several food vendors as the day progresses. Peruse a variety of vendor booths, and stick around for a water ski show and exciting raffles!

Labor Day Hours

Labor Day is just around the corner, and we're gearing up to celebrate and honor the contributions of workers everywhere! Please note that our offices (including Member Services) are closed on Monday, September 2, in recognition of the holiday. Our regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3. We hope everyone has a great holiday.

Pool Fall Hours

As we say goodbye to summer and hello to fall, note that our pool hours will change. Beginning Monday, September 2, lap swim and exercise swim will be 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily, and open swim will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Visit our Pool page for more information.

Vacation Drive Lane Closure

An Edison Power Pole replacement has been scheduled on Thursday, September 5, requiring a lane closure from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 22234 Vacation Drive. Please be advised that there may be possible delays. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Labor Day Weekend Service Provider Access

Reminder, during Labor Day weekend, service providers are not permitted into the community. Examples of service providers include contractors, delivery drivers (like delivery drivers (like DoorDash or pizza delivery), furniture deliveries, HVAC services, home cleaning services, landscapers/pool services, plumbing services, ride share apps (like Uber or Lyft). Please note, this does not apply to in-home health care services.

If you have a service provider needing access to the community, please add them as a temporary guest for the day.

Temporary Fuel Sales Closure

Due to the challenging insurance market in California, our insurance brokers are still pursuing coverage for the Marine Gas and Propane sales at Happy Camp. All our insurance policies were renewed this week, and the Canyon Lake POA is facing very high rate increases due to the California wildfires and the current state of insurance all over California.

Gas and propane sales have closed for now, but we expect to have new coverage for the fuel sales in the coming days. 

Stop for School Buses!

School is back in session! As kids return to school, it is important for drivers to remember to stop for school buses and be on the lookout for kids on bikes, skateboards, and other transports commuting to and from school or bus stops. Community Patrol regularly monitors the bus stops throughout the community, and there is a $100 fine for failure to stop at a school bus signal (GR.5.1.n). As always, if you see a driver speeding or driving erratically, please call Community Patrol at 951.246.2721.

 

 

Tennis Area Shade Project

The Tennis Area Shade Project has received final sign-off from the Building Department. Landscaping will finish this month, and once complete, this project will bring significant improvement on one of the last available pieces of our beautiful lakefront property.

Camera Program Signs & Decals

We're excited to announce that free Camera Program decals and yard signs are now available at the Canyon Lake POA office for Camera Program participants. Show your support for this valuable safety initiative and help deter crime in your neighborhood!

You can pick up your free decal and yard sign at the Canyon Lake POA Office, located at 31512 Railroad Canyon Road. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Protect Our Lake!

Attention Canyon Lake boaters! Zebra mussels have been detected in the Colorado River, and we must act now to prevent them from spreading to Canyon Lake. These invasive species can wreak havoc on our water systems, increase maintenance costs, and harm property values.

What You Can Do
  1. Inspect: Thoroughly inspect your boat and flotation devices after use in other bodies of water, particularly the Colorado River or other lakes.
  2. Clean: Remove all debris and mussels from your equipment.
  3. Dry: Ensure everything is completely dry before entering our lake.

Aqua Fitness

Looking to have an amazing workout while enjoying the pool? Join our invigorating Aqua Fitness classes! We offer a dynamic HIIT Aqua Fitness class at 8 a.m. and a low-intensity class at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday. We are also offering a HIIT class Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 7 p.m. in the evenings.

Classes are $3 each, with the option of purchasing a package of 10 classes for just $25. Alternatively, you can enjoy unlimited classes for only $35 per month. Classes can be conveniently purchased at the Pool office!

When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted on our ACC Notices page will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
