POA Offices Closed For 4th of July

In observance of the 4th of July holiday, the Canyon Lake POA Offices are closed tomorrow, July 4. Regular hours will resume Friday, July 5.

Board Meeting Recap

The Board of Directors met for their Regular Session Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. At this meeting, the Board approved one 28 Day Reading and the Committee Policy Revision, as well as appointed members to the Recreation Committee and the Architectural Control Committee.

As always, we thank everyone who participated in this meeting. The next Regular Session Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, at 6 p.m. at the Lodge. Members are invited to join in person at the Lodge or online at vm.clpoa.net.

Pickleball Scholarships

This weekend is your last chance to apply for a scholarship! The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club is excited to offer two scholarships to high school students from the Canyon Lake community who graduated in 2024. To apply, please submit an essay of 300 words or fewer, detailing your contributions to the Canyon Lake community during your high school years.

Please email your essay to [email protected] by this Sunday, July 7. Scholarship recipients will be announced the following week. This is your opportunity to showcase your commitment and efforts in serving our community—don't hesitate to highlight your achievements!

July Member of the Month

July's Member of the Month is Joe Grasso. Joe moved to Canyon Lake in 1995 and immediately joined the Bassmasters, serving as board member, secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president in the years since. His involvement in the community quickly spread to other committees, including the Recreation Committee. For over 19 years, he also sat on the Fiesta Day Committee and served as Chair for four years.

In addition to volunteering on committees, Joe has offered his services to the community to further help Canyon Lake. Joe runs a printing company that has been serving the community with high-quality signage since 2002. Renowned for his rapid turnaround times, Joe consistently delivers exceptional signage that meets urgent needs without compromising on quality. Joe's eagerness to contribute to Canyon Lake in any way he can has made him a vital member to our community.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Give back to your community by donating blood! The American Red Cross will be at the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club on Monday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. hosting a blood drive. For more information or to make an appointment online, visit www.redcrossblood.org with sponsor code CLGCC.

E-bike Success Story

A young member of the community recently had their e-bike stolen from the pool bike rack by a friend of a guest called in by a community member. After the incident was reported and Riverside County Sheriff began conducting an investigation, the e-bike was anonymously returned to the Main Gate. Thanks to CCTV video review, as well as other information gathering processes by the Canyon Lake POA, the young member received their bike back.

Tacos & Family Fun Nights

Don’t miss our next Tacos & Family Fun Night on Tuesday, July 9! Enjoy food from the Lodge and from Wood Fire Pizza. Beat the summer heat with Kona Ice and drinks from the Sunset Bar and Lounge. Activities include face painters, two waterslides, and air joust, as well as a variety of games for kids and cornhole for adults.

This fun summer event series takes place every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through July 30 (excluding July 2). Each week features tacos and margaritas available at the Lodge inside the Holiday Bay Room, food and drink specials at the Sunset Lounge and Terrace, and a variety of activities and entertainment outside for everyone to enjoy.

4th of July

Fireworks Show

Are you ready for a spectacular fireworks show, Canyon Lake? Our annual show lights up the night starting at 9 a.m. on July 4. Fireworks are launched from Skipper's Island for a dazzling display over Canyon Lake. Tune into 99.9 FM to hear music synchronized to the fireworks show!

Pool Facility Hours

On July 4, open swim hours at the pool are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pool will close promptly at 7 p.m. for the fireworks show; no one will be allowed in the pool deck area.

Although the pool will be closed, Sunset Beach and the walkway around the pool are great places to watch the fireworks. DJ Mike Shroyer will be playing music from the pool patio starting at 8 p.m. and leading up to the fireworks show.

The pool will reopen on Friday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

4th of July Service Provider Access

Reminder, if you are inviting guests into the community on 4th of July, please utilize our e-pass service, which emails your guests their pass. This will expedite their entry into the community and keep the lines moving expediently.

Also, please note that service providers are not permitted into the community on 4th of July. Examples of service providers include contractors, delivery drivers (like DoorDash or pizza delivery), furniture deliveries, HVAC services, home cleaning services, landscapers/pool services, plumbing services, ride share apps (like Uber or Lyft). Please note, this does not apply to in-home health care services. If you have a service provider needing access to the community, please add them as a temporary guest for the day.

Lodge Access & Parking

The Lodge parking lot is expected to be full by 4 p.m. After 4 p.m. on the 4th of July, Canyon Club Drive (after the Lighthouse Drive intersection down to the Lodge) will be closed to vehicle/golf cart traffic, allowing only pedestrian traffic. To minimize congestion, only one vehicle/golf cart may wait for a parking spot to open up. Individuals requiring ADA access may be dropped off at the Lodge. All vehicles, including golf carts, parked at the Lodge must be parked in designated parking spots.

Park & Beach Setup Hours

Please be advised that all parks and beaches in the community will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4th. Access is on a first-come, first-served basis. Community Patrol will be actively enforcing park hours. Entry or leaving personal property before the specified opening time is not allowed. Any property left prior will be collected by the Canyon Lake POA and can be retrieved 24 hours a day at Bluebird Hall through the following Monday, July 8. Any property not claimed before July 8 will be considered abandoned and disposed of. Please note, the Canyon Lake POA is not liable for the loss or damage of these items.

Boat Registration Reminders

Unregistered boats are not permitted on the lake. Marine Patrol will be verifying boats for current registration at all launch ramps throughout the July 4th weekend. Unregistered boats are subject to a $500 citation. Those who need to have a safety inspection completed on their boats may visit the Marine Patrol office located at Holiday Harbor Park. Inspections take place seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. To get your boat inspected please be sure to have your boat registration, California boater card, CLPOA member card and results of the Boating Safety Test.

 

 

National Parks & Recreation Month
Did you know that July is National Parks & Recreation Month? As part of our celebration, we'll be featuring different parks in our email newsletter each week. This week, we're highlighting parks that have designated swimming areas and beaches.

Holiday Harbor Park

Holiday Harbor Park, located at 22180 Village Way Dr., offers a wide array of activities and amenities for everyone to enjoy. The park boasts an amphitheater used regularly for live performances, a large beach with a roped swimming area, volleyball, horseshoes, and a playground for kids to have fun.

Indian Beach

Located at 23380 Continental Drive, Indian Beach offers an entertainment stage, fishing, playground, roped swimming area, and a large relaxing shady grass area. With its stage, Indian Beach is a popular park for community events, such as Movie Nights at the Park and the upcoming Little Mermaid Jr. Production by Canyon Lake Community Theater.

Roadrunner Park

Located at 22850 Gray Fox Drive, Roadrunner Park offers a wonderful setting for outdoor enjoyment. This park features a volleyball net, roped swimming area, and horseshoe court. It's an ideal spot for picnics and family gatherings, equipped with multiple picnic areas, grills, and a spacious pavilion for events. We've also recently added a restroom and drinking fountains for your convenience.

Sierra Park

Located at 29475 Vacation Drive, Sierra Park offers an array of features for outdoor enjoyment, including disc golf, a dock perfect for fishing, picnic areas, roped swimming area, and volleyball. Summer Kids' Activities

Swim Lessons

Looking for a fun way to beat the heat this summer? Sign up for swim lessons at the Canyon Lake POA pool! Two swim sessions will take place each week through August 2 (no classes week of July 4). Sessions are $90 for the first week/child, $60 for the second week/second child, and $55 for additional weeks/children. Session 1 is Monday through Friday at 10:15 a.m. Session 2 is Monday through Friday at 11 a.m.

Water Polo Lessons

Want your kid to have a ball this summer? Sign them up for water polo lessons at our amazing pool! Water polo lessons are perfect for children ages 8 to 15 who are ready to learn the ins and outs of this exciting sport. They'll dive in for 1 hour and 15 minutes of pure fun from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday every week through August 2 (no classes week of July 4). Kids will learn the basics of the sport, including passing, shooting, and teamwork, all while having a blast in the water. Our experienced instructors will guide your child every step of the way, ensuring that they learn and progress at their own pace. Weeks 1 and 2 of Water Polo are $65 each, with additional weeks at $55 each.

Bingo!

Grab your daubers and get ready to shout "Bingo!" on Sunday, July 7, at the Senior Center. The buy-in is $13 for a 10-pack of bingo sheets, and two special games are available for $1 each. There is a Hot Ball opportunity, and buy-in is only $1! Doors open at 12 p.m., and calling starts at 1 p.m. sharp, so get there before the doors close. Everyone 18 or older is welcome!

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, the Lions Club hosts a bingo fundraiser event at the Senior Center.

Movie at the Park

Join us for Movie at the Park on Friday, July 12, at Indian Beach! As the sun sets and dusk approaches, grab your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for an unforgettable movie night under the twinkling sky. It's a fantastic opportunity to gather with your friends and family to enjoy a family-friendly film and create beautiful memories together.

and Tie-Up Party

Grab your cutlasses and swagger down to the Holiday Harbor Docks on July 13 at 6:30 p.m. for the Canyon Lake Yacht Club Pirates & Wenches Cruise and Tie-Up Party! Dress up in your piratey finest for this evening event that cruises through the lake before tying up for a late-night party. The boats set sail at 7:15 p.m. from the Holiday Harbor Docks. Yacht Club members and guests are welcome at this event, so don't miss it! RSVP at www.CLYCCA.org today. Interested in volunteering for this event? All American Girl Guild Concert

Stomp on down to the Canyon Lake Lodge on Saturday, July 13, for the Canyon Lake Guild's All American Girl concert at 7 p.m. This Carrie and Shania Tribute featuring the very talented and high energy Rebel Rose Band will ignite the stage with some of country crossover's biggest hits. Packed with tight harmonies, dueling guitars, and 2 talented singers that recreate the sound and look of Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain, this concert will showcase all of your favorite hits — so hold on to your cowboy hats and get ready for a rockin' country good time. VIP tickets are $60, and general admission tickets are $45.

Tennis Area Shade Project

Both shade structures are assembled, and concrete has been poured. For your safety, we kindly ask that you avoid the construction site. While the courts remain accessible, please be aware that lights on courts 3, 4, 5, and 6 may be temporarily unavailable during certain phases of the project.

Upon completion of the project, two new shade structure pavilions will be unveiled. One pavilion will feature a built-in barbecue at one end, accompanied by six picnic tables beneath the shade canopy, creating an ideal setting for outdoor gatherings. The second pavilion will replace the existing aging structure, offering extended coverage and additional viewing bleachers for tennis matches. Additionally, the project includes the installation of a new ADA ramp, ensuring accessibility for all community members. With an anticipated completion date in early summer, these enhancements will provide improved amenities for residents.

SERVICE REMINDERS

Electric Bicycle Registration

To promote a safe and enjoyable riding experience, Canyon Lake residents must now register their electric bicycles with the Canyon Lake POA. Additionally, all residents riding an electric bicycle must complete an online safety exam before registration. Registration is available at the Member Services office during regular business hours. 

This program is for Canyon Lake residents only. As always, guests visiting the community must possess a guest pass, which should be readily available on their person if cycling. Their guest pass and ID must be presented to Community Patrol upon request. Also, please remember that members are responsible for their guests, and guests must always comply with all Canyon Lake POA rules.

Aqua Fitness

Looking to have an amazing workout while enjoying the pool? Join our invigorating Aqua Fitness classes! We offer a dynamic HIIT Aqua Fitness class at 8 a.m. and a low-intensity class at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday. We are also offering a HIIT class Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 7 p.m. in the evenings.

Classes are $3 each, with the option of purchasing a package of 10 classes for just $25. Alternatively, you can enjoy unlimited classes for only $35 per month. Classes can be conveniently purchased at the Pool office!

When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted on our ACC Notices page will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
