Tree Lighting Festival
- November 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. - 

Join us for the 41st annual Tree Lighting Festival hosted by the Canyon Lake POA and Canyon Lake Junior Women's Club at the Canyon Lake Lodge on Sunday, November 26. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Lodge will turn into a winter wonderland with various FREE holiday entertainment and activities. Festivities include face painters, a ferris wheel ride, bounce houses, a cotton candy machine, a photo booth, a large petting zoo, DJ music, an LED toy vendor, balloon animal creators, food vendors, and more! Family activities are FREE, except for the vendor and food booths.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Parade of Lights  

Don't miss the 41st annual Parade of Lights on the evening of Saturday, December 9, 2023. The Parade of Lights is a signature Canyon Lake Yacht Club event with support from the Canyon Lake POA. Boats will line up at the Eastport Park boat launch area at 5 p.m. The parade will start at approximately 5:30 p.m. with the Yacht Club’s iconic Green Dragon leading the way. Boats will show off their holiday spirit with festive lights and colorful displays as they parade through the East Bay and around the main part of the lake. The boats will go into Big Bass Cove and Catfish Cove, but no other coves this year.

Holiday Home Tour

See some of Canyon Lake's most exquisitely decorated homes at the Canyon Lake Woman's Club Holiday Home Tour on Saturday, December 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lodge opens at 9 a.m. for shopping, tour maps, and refreshments. Home tours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will conclude with the opportunity drawing being held at the Lodge at 3:30 p.m. 
Tickets are $20 per person. The Woman’s Club is also selling opportunity tickets for $1 each or six for $5.

City of Canyon Lake's
Winter Wonderland

The City of Canyon Lake invites the community to its Annual Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Towne Center.
This free holiday event features photos with Santa, tree lighting, train rides, snow sledding, a petting zoo, a rock wall, carnival games, letters to Santa, a craft table, glitter tattoos, food vendors, and holiday music.

Toy Drive & Christmas Parade

'Tis the season! Celebrating its 13th year, the Toy Drive & Christmas Parade is a unique holiday event where the holiday-decked-out golf carts of Canyon Lake take to the streets! This year's event is on Sunday, December 3, and the parade lineup will begin at 4 p.m. on Blue Bird Drive. The parade will start at approximately 5 p.m. from Blue Bird Drive, head down Canyon Lake Drive, and end at Eastport Park where there will be food vendors, awards, and a great opportunity to see the decorated carts up close. 

Senior Center's New Year's Eve Party

The Canyon Lake Senior Center is hosting a New Year's Eve dinner dance on Sunday, December 31 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  This semi-formal event includes a catered dinner, dancing, and a champagne toast. Rob Roberson will provide the entertainment for the evening.  A New Year's celebration and champagne toast will be at 10 p.m.  You can bring your own choice of beverage.   Tickets are $50 per person.  Limited seating for this event, so early reservations are recommended. Tickets can be purchased on Monday mornings at the Senior Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting November 27. PROJECT UPDATES

"Year 2" Pavement
Improvement Project

Work starts on the "Year 2" Pavement Improvement Project with concrete repairs and potholing the utilities starting Monday, December 4. The majority of this work will not affect resident access. However, parking may be affected. Temporary 'No Parking' signs will be posted 48 hours in advance in all work areas.

Most of this project will occur on the community's Longhorn side. Residents will be notified at least one week before that their street will be affected. General working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streets being reconstructed will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vehicles should be parked in zones outside the area scheduled for reconstruction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holiday Harbor Dock

The Holiday Harbor courtesy dock is being upgraded to better accommodate lake activities. The current dock, installed in the late 90s, is showing signs of wear with issues like cracked aluminum frames and deteriorating decking. The replacement will not only address these concerns but also reconfigure the space to accommodate 20 boats, an increase from the current 12.

Lodge Project

The Sunset Lounge & Terrace is almost complete! The lawn and firepits are finished, and most of the outdoor furniture is expected to arrive later this month. Indoors, the dining room is now closed for phase 2 of the Lodge renovation. Dinner is being served on the new terrace and in the bar during this time. Once complete, the dining room will have a fresh new look that compliments the newly renovated bar. The 3rd and final phase — the lounge/dance floor area — is being constructed concurrently with phase 2. This area will also have all new finishes, new lounge furniture, and a beautiful new fireplace. Thank you for your patience during this exciting renovation.

Did You Know?

The Davis Stirling Act, which governs all homeowner associations, requires that the Canyon Lake POA maintain a reserve study and healthy reserve funds. The Canyon Lake POA's boards have done a great job of this in recent years, and the money for many of these projects is already in the bank. The Davis Stirling Act also requires the Canyon Lake POA to maintain all of the common area amenities. This is one of the Canyon Lake POA's primary obligations. All of this helps maintain healthy property values here in Canyon Lake and helps modernize our 55-year-old community.

 

 

COMMUNITY UPDATES

Pool End Of Season Notice

Due to heater issues, the pool will be closed for the remainder of the 2023 season. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank everyone for a wonderful pool season. We look forward to seeing you again in spring 2024!

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

The Canyon Lake POA offices (including Member Services) are closed Thursday, November 23, through Saturday, November 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular hours will resume on Monday, November 27.

Additionally, both the Lighthouse Restaurant and Country Club Bar & Grill are closed on Thursday, November 23, and regular hours will resume on Friday, November 22.

Holiday Decor Reminder

The holidays are right around the corner, and we know that Canyon Lake is ready to embrace the holiday season with open arms! As a friendly reminder, you may start decorating your property with Christmas and New Year's decorations on Thanksgiving day, and all holiday decorations must be taken down within 15 days after the holiday.

Regular Session
Board Meeting Recap 

The Board met for their Regular Session Board Meeting on Tuesday, November 7. The Board approved eight Board Action Items, including two rule revisions. All fields at Gault Field close for overseeding starting November 20. The fields will reopen in mid-January. We look forward to playing ball in 2024!

ePasses for Guests

Through dwellingLIVE members can have an ePass sent directly to their visitors via email or text message so they can either print their pass ahead of time, or the gate guard can scan their pass on their smartphone. Visitors can either hold up their smartphone or printed pass for the guard to scan. Gate guards will issue printed parking passes to eligible visitors who haven't yet printed the ePass out. ePasses are the easiest way for your visitors to access the community in an expeditious manner.

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELMs) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters so they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map, which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.

CLASSES

Holiday Class Cancellations

Active Fitness, Dance Cardio, and Restorative Hatha Yoga classes are canceled this week due to the upcoming holiday. 

Active Fitness Class

Calling all fitness enthusiasts! Senior Fitness is now Active Fitness, a fitness class for adults of all ages. Improve your strength, mobility, mood, and circulation with a low-impact, high-energy workout! The class is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. The class is 45 minutes. Six classes can be purchased for $36, or seven classes can be purchased for $40. Want to give a try before signing up? Try out your first class for free!

Line Dancing Classes

Join the excitement of our popular line dancing class led by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. With two class levels for beginners and improvers, you can find the perfect fit for your skill level. Purchase a punch card with five classes for just $20, or upgrade to 11 classes for only $40. Want to try before you commit? Attend a trial class for free! Tuesday classes are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting with a Basic Introduction from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Beginners from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesdays is the Improvers class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are held at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Dance Cardio
- Get Fit With Sticks - 

 Join fitness instructor Amanda Wagoner on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the Lodge for a high-energy workout that includes easy-to-follow dance moves and dance sticks! Burn calories, have a blast, and groove to upbeat music. Classes are $36 for a six-class punch card or $40 for a seven-class punch card and can be purchased at the pool or Canyon Lake POA office. Don't miss out on this fun and exciting fitness experience!

Indulge in the blissful practice of Restorative Hatha Yoga, a mindful class that allows you to slow down, relax, and deeply connect with your body. When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
