Pickleball Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join us on Thursday, November 16 at 5 p.m. for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the two new pickleball courts at Eastport Park. These additional lakeside courts will significantly enhance the playing experience for Canyon Lake residents, providing more opportunities to enjoy this popular sport. After the ribbon cutting, stick around for the Pickleball Club's monthly social meetup.

 

PROJECT UPDATES

Holiday Harbor Dock

The Holiday Harbor courtesy dock is being upgraded to better accommodate lake activities. The current dock, installed in the late 90s, is showing signs of wear with issues like cracked aluminum frames and deteriorating decking. The replacement will not only address these concerns but also reconfigure the space to accommodate 20 boats, an increase from the current 12.

"Year 2" Pavement
Improvement Project

The "Year 2" Pavement Improvement Project is planned to begin in January 2024. Most of this project will take place on the Longhorn side of the community. Residents will be notified at least one week in advance that their street will be affected. General working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streets being reconstructed will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vehicles should be parked in zones outside the area scheduled for reconstruction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lodge Project

The Sunset Lounge & Terrace is almost complete! The lawn and firepits are finished, and most of the outdoor furniture is expected to arrive later this month. Indoors, the dining room is now closed for phase 2 of the Lodge renovation. Dinner is being served on the new terrace during this time. Once complete, the dining room will have a fresh new look that compliments the newly renovated bar. The 3rd and final phase - the lounge/dance floor area is being constructed concurrently with phase 2. This area will also have all new finishes, new lounge furniture, and a beautiful new fireplace. Thank you for your patience during this exciting renovation.

Did You Know?

The Davis Stirling Act, which governs all homeowner associations, requires that the Canyon Lake POA maintain a reserve study and healthy reserve funds. The Canyon Lake POA's boards have done a great job of this in recent years, and the money for many of these projects is already in the bank. The Davis Stirling Act also requires the Canyon Lake POA to maintain all of the common area amenities. This is one of the Canyon Lake POA's primary obligations. All of this helps maintain healthy property values here in Canyon Lake and helps modernize our 55-year-old community.

 

 

COMMUNITY UPDATES

Veteran's Day Hours

The Canyon Lake POA Offices (including Member Services) are closed on Friday, November 10 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Our regular business hours will resume on Saturday, November 11. We thank all of the individuals who have selflessly served our country!

Board Meeting Recap 

The Board met for their Regular Session Board Meeting on Tuesday, November 7. The Board approved eight Board Action Items, including two rule revisions. Pool Hours

The pool is now on winter hours. Lap swim/exercise is daily from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and open swim is daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pool will be closed on Thanksgiving day, November 23, and the last day of the 2023 pool season is November 26. The pool will reopen in spring 2024. We thank everyone for another great pool season! 

City Turkey Drive

Every year the City hosts a turkey drive to help provide food for those in need. This year, the City will be accepting food from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at City Hall. All donations received will go to Helping Our People in Elsinore (H.O.P.E.), who also serve residents in Canyon Lake. The items needed include frozen turkeys, whole frozen chickens, stuffing and gravy mix, canned mushroom soup, canned green beans, canned yams, brown sugar, miniature marshmallows, corn bread mix, hot chocolate and coffee, cake and cookie mix, and other non-perishable items.

Holiday Decor Reminder

The holidays are right around the corner, and we know that Canyon Lake is ready to embrace the holiday season with open arms! As a friendly reminder, you may start decorating your property with Christmas and New Year's decorations on Thanksgiving day, and all holiday decorations must be taken down within 15 days after the holiday.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Community Garden Work Day 

The Canyon Lake Community Gardeners invite the community to help build the Canyon Lake Community Garden. On Saturday, November 11, the club will meet at the new Community Garden at 10 a.m. They will be preparing the site for raised bed installation by pulling weeds, trimming trees, and putting down weed barriers, as well as building raised beds.

City of Canyon Lake's
Veterans Day Salute to Service

The City of Canyon Lake is hosting a Veterans Day event on Saturday, November 11 at Holiday Harbor Park to salute those who have bravely served in the armed forces. This event will take place form 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a special family-friendly picnic event featuring live music, inspirational speakers, fun contests with prizes, and the annual flyover — anticipated to take place at 3 p.m. Veterans who attend will receive a special edition Veteran Challenge Coin from the City and can sign up at the event for their chance to win a special raffle gift.

Parade of Lights 
- Decorating Workshop - 

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club is gearing up for this year's Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 9, with a decorating workshop on Sunday, November 12. With the Annual Golf Cart Parade and Parade of Lights being only six days apart, the workshop will focus on designs that can easily be transferred from your golf cart to your boat. At this workshop, you'll learn tips and tricks from veteran holiday boat and golf cart decorators.

Tree Lighting Festival

Join us for our 41st annual Tree Lighting Festival hosted by the Canyon Lake POA and Canyon Lake Junior Women's Club at the Canyon Lake Lodge on Sunday, November 26. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Lodge will turn into a winter wonderland with a variety of FREE holiday entertainment and activities. Festivities include face painters, ferris wheel ride, photo booth, cotton candy machine, balloon animal creators, large petting zoo, LED toy vendor, food vendors and more! Family activities are FREE, except for the vendor and food booths.

Holiday Home Tour

See some of Canyon Lake's most exquisitely decorated homes at the Canyon Lake Woman's Club Holiday Home Tour on Saturday, December 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lodge opens at 9 a.m. for shopping, tour maps, and refreshments. Home tours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will conclude with the opportunity drawing being held at the Lodge at 3:30 p.m. 
Tickets are $20 per person, the Woman’s Club is also selling opportunity tickets for $1 each or six for $5.

City of Canyon Lake's
Winter Wonderland

The City of Canyon Lake invites the community to its Annual Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Towne Center.
This free holiday event features photos with Santa, tree lighting, train rides, snow sledding, a petting zoo, a rock wall, carnival games, letters to Santa, a craft table, glitter tattoos, food vendors, and holiday music.

Toy Drive & Christmas Parade

'Tis the season! Celebrating its 13th year, the Toy Drive & Christmas Parade is a unique holiday event where the holiday-decked-out golf carts of Canyon Lake take to the streets! This year's event is on Sunday, December 3, and the parade lineup will begin at 4 p.m. on Blue Bird Drive. The parade will start at approximately 5 p.m. from Blue Bird Drive, head down Canyon Lake Drive, and end at Eastport Park where there will be food vendors, awards, and a great opportunity to see the decorated carts up close.

ePasses for Guests

Through dwellingLIVE members can have an ePass sent directly to their visitors via email or text message so they can either print their pass ahead of time, or the gate guard can scan their pass on their smartphone. Visitors can either hold up their smartphone or printed pass for the guard to scan. Gate guards will issue printed parking passes to eligible visitors who haven't yet printed the ePass out. ePasses are the easiest way for your visitors to access the community in an expeditious manner.

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELMs) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters so they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map, which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.

CLASSES

Active Fitness Class

Calling all fitness enthusiasts! Senior Fitness is now Active Fitness, a fitness class for adults of all ages. Improve your strength, mobility, mood, and circulation with a low-impact, high-energy workout! The class is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. The class is 45 minutes. Six classes can be purchased for $36, or seven classes can be purchased for $40. Want to give a try before signing up? Try out your first class for free!

Join Aqua Fitness

Looking to have an amazing workout while enjoying the pool? Join our invigorating Aqua Fitness class Monday - Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Classes are $3 each, with the option of purchasing a package of 10 classes for just $20. Alternatively, you can enjoy unlimited classes for only $30 per month. Classes can be conveniently purchased at the Pool office. The last day of Aqua Fitness this year is November 22. Classes will resume in spring 2024 when the pool reopens. Thank you everyone for great year of Aqua Fitness!  

Line Dancing Classes

Join the excitement of our popular line dancing class led by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. With two class levels for beginners and improvers, you can find the perfect fit for your skill level. Purchase a punch card with five classes for just $20, or upgrade to 11 classes for only $40. Want to try before you commit? Attend a trial class for free! Tuesday classes are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting with a Basic Introduction from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Beginners from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesdays is the Improvers class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are held at the Canyon Lake Lodge.  Join fitness instructor Amanda Wagoner on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the Lodge for a high-energy workout that includes easy-to-follow dance moves and dance sticks! Burn calories, have a blast, and groove to upbeat music. Classes are $36 for a six-class punch card or $40 for a seven-class punch card and can be purchased at the pool or Canyon Lake POA office. Don't miss out on this fun and exciting fitness experience!

Indulge in the blissful practice of Restorative Hatha Yoga, a mindful class that allows you to slow down, relax, and deeply connect with your body. When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
