Get ready to celebrate summer with our iconic Tacos & Family Fun Nights at the Lodge beginning Tuesday, June 13! Starting at 4 p.m., the Holiday Bay Room inside the Lodge will open with an enticing spread of tacos, combo plates, pizza, and drink specials prepared by the Lighthouse Restaurant. But that's not all! Outside there will be various activities, from a thrilling water slide to exciting games and DJ music. Carl's Concessions and Kona Ice food trucks will also offer other delicious foods and treats outside.

Save the date now for the rest of this unforgettable summer series. Tacos & Family Fun Nights are also scheduled for these upcoming Tuesdays: June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18, and July 25. This iconic summer series brings the community together each week to for fun, food, and great memories!

Movie Night at the Pool

Dive into the fun with our first Movie Night of the season at the pool! Join us for a rip-roaring good time as we screen a PG-rated, family-friendly flick. This free event is exclusively for Canyon Lake POA members and their guests, but space is limited and all pool rules apply. The pool will open for movie-goers at approximately 6:30 p.m. so float on over with your favorite inflatable and enjoy a movie in the water. The pool office sells tasty treats or you can order some delicious food to-go from the Lighthouse Restaurant at 951-246-2720. See you there!

Movie Night at the Park 

Experience the magic of Movies at the Park at Indian Beach—where family fun meets cinematic delight, all for free! Our next Movie Night at the Park is on Friday, June 23.  As the sun sets and dusk approaches, grab your blankets and lawn chairs, and settle in for an unforgettable movie night under the twinkling sky. It's a fantastic opportunity to gather with your friends and family to enjoy a family-friendly film and create beautiful memories together.

CLAMS Golf Tournament

The CLAMS invites you to join them at their annual Charity Fundraiser Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club! This tournament combines FUN and FUNdraising with a healthy dose of competition. So come on out, play a round of golf, have fun, enjoy lunch and raffles, and most importantly, help CLAMS raise funds for their charities.

CLAMS & Lions Club Bingo Bash

The CLAMS & Lions Club intvite you to join them on July 16 at 12 p.m. for a fun Bingo Bash at the Lodge, where every dollar raised will assist veterans, hospitals, dog shelters, Seeing Eye Dogs, service dogs, and other causes supporting our community. SUMMER KIDS CAMPS

Summer Tennis Camp

Join our exciting junior tennis camp and take your kids' skills to the next level! Designed for children ages 4 to 17, sessions run from June 19 to June 23. From mastering fundamentals to improving coordination and technique, our experienced coaches will guide your child's tennis journey. Engaging games like dodgeball and capture the flag add extra fun. The session for children ages 4 to 6 is $50 and runs from 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. The session for children ages 7 to 17 is $175 (includes drinks and snacks) and runs from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Summer Swim Lessons
& Water Polo 

Get your kids ready to make a splash this summer by signing them up for pool swim lessons or water polo! Our swim lesson sessions will be held twice a week from June 12 to August 4 (excluding the week of July 4). If your child is interested in water polo, they can join our 75-minute session at 11:45 a.m. from Monday to Friday. This year, we've made registrations even easier by offering online sign-ups at www.clpoa.com/pool. Hurry and secure a spot before they're all filled.

Mommy & Me Swim Lessons

Mommy & Me swim lessons are designed for infants, toddlers, and their parents to learn and enjoy swimming together. These classes focus on developing water confidence, basic swimming skills, and water safety awareness for both the child and the parent. It's a bonding experience that introduces children to the water in a safe and fun environment.  This class is offered July 10 through July 14 for $35. This year, we've made registrations even easier by offering online sign-ups at www.clpoa.com/pool. Junior Golf Camp

Attention young golf enthusiasts! Join our fun-filled Junior Golf Camp designed just for kids ages  5 to 17.Learn golf skills, make friends, and have a blast from July 25 to July 28, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for only $50 per child. The camp will conclude with a skills event and a free barbecue for participants and their families on Friday, July 28, at 3 p.m. Each participant will have a chance to win prizes and medals. Throughout the camp, they will also benefit from fun kid-friendly competitions, learning fundamental golfing skills, developing a higher level of sportsmanship, and receiving instruction from PGA professionals.

COMMUNITY UPDATES

Weekly Dog Park Maintenance

Starting from June 15, there will be a slight adjustment to the schedule of the large and small dog parks at Eastport Park. In order to ensure proper maintenance, both the small and large dog parks will now open at 10 a.m. on Thursdays. This adjustment aims to ensure that the dog parks remain in optimal condition, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our beloved canine companions.

The Board met for their June Regular Session Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 6 (click here to view recap). Due to summer holidays and upcoming events the July Regular Session Board Meeting will be on Monday, July 10 and the August Regular Session Board Meeting will be on Tuesday, August 9. As always, members are encouraged to attend in person or online via Zoom.

Use ePasses for Guests

Through dwellingLIVE members can have an ePass sent directly to their visitors via email or text message so they can either print their pass ahead of time, or the gate guard can scan their pass on their smartphone. Visitors can either hold up their smartphone or printed pass for the guard to scan. Gate guards will issue printed parking passes to eligible visitors who haven't yet printed the epass out. ePasses are the easiest way for your visitors to access the community in an expeditious manner.

Rule Reminder - Pool Use

We kindly remind all pool visitors that you must be a Canyon Lake POA member or accompanied by a member to use the pool. A valid CLPOA card is required for entry. Additionally, to provide a comfortable and spacious pool area, we want to remind members that each tract/lot limits the number of guests to six individuals at any given time. This ensures that all pool-goers have ample space to relax and have fun.

PROJECT UPDATES

Canyon Lake Drive Medians

Work is wrapping up on revamping our 55-year-old medians on Canyon Lake Drive. The palm trees have been planted but require the crowns to be tied up for 12 weeks to help the trees by slowing down their top growth while the roots are healing, making them more stable against strong winds. It also helps reduce water loss through the leaves. The trees will remain tied up for three more weeks to maintain the warranty providing by the tree nursery.

"Year 2" Pavement Improvement Project Approved

The Board approved contract negotiations and contract formation for "Year 2" Pavement Improvement Project in an amount not to exceed $7,770,459 (plus at 10% contingency) from the Road Reserve Fund.  

This project went to bid in April 2023 (click here to view the bid package).  The current balance of our Road Reserve and Road Litigation funds is $10,211,000. Each year, the Canyon Lake POA Board contributes more money to the Road Reserve funds for the purpose of continually maintaining our 37 miles of privately owned roads. The roads are the Canyon Lake POA's largest asset and maintenance liability.

Lodge Renovation

This week work continued on the stage/bandstand with the trelis and planters being installed. This is all still part of the first phase that focuses on the exterior patio and bar area. Phase 2 is the restaurant area, and Phase 3 is the lounge/dance floor. Dividing the project into these three phases allows the least disruption to the restaurant and bar functions so that the restaurant may remain open during construction. Our goal is to have this entire renovation complete by fall 2023. The renovation will not affect concerts and events in the Holiday Bay Room. We intend to keep the restaurant and bar open as much as possible throughout the construction.

Solar Project 

Work is finishing up on the solar structures  at the Canyon Lake Golf Course over the driving range tee box. There are two separate solar shade structures at the driving range due to an EVMWD sewer line easement between them. The two structures will be connected with a dark shade cloth appearing as one, and will provide continuous shade.

The solar project has been in development by the last 10 boards over the last 10 years. The Finance, Facilities Planning Committee and  Green (Golf) committees were all involved in this project, throughout its development. This project will provide much needed shade along with decades of clean energy and millions of dollars in savings to the Canyon Lake POA operating budget – all at zero upfront cost.

CLASSES

Free Tennis Clinics

Come and learn the basics of tennis with Canyon Lake’s Head Tennis Pro, Bobby Kelty. Clinicis are Sundays and Mondays at 10 a.m. Tennis racquets and balls will be provided. Athletic attire required, no sandals or jeans please. These clinics are a great opportunity to learn more about the sport and meet others who share a similar interest in tennis.  Registration is recommended and you can register by calling 951-760-0140.

Aqua Fitness

Looking to have an amazing workout while enjoying the pool? Join our invigorating Aqua Fitness classes! We offer a dynamic HIIT Aqua Fitness class at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday and for those new to Aqua Fitness, we also have a beginners class at 9 a.m. Classes are $3 each, with the option of purchasing a package of 10 classes for just $20. Alternatively, you can enjoy unlimited classes for only $30 per month. Classes can be conveniently purchased at the Pool office.

Line Dancing Classes

Join the excitement of our popular line dancing class, led by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. With two class levels for beginners and improvers, you can find the perfect fit for your skill level. Purchase a punch card with five classes for just $20, or upgrade to 11 classes for only $40. Want to try before you commit? Attend a trial class for free! Tuesday class are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting with a Basic Introduction from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Beginners from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesdays, is the Improvers class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are held at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Dance Cardio
- Get Fit With Sticks - 

Join fitness instructor Amanda Wagoner for a high-energy workout that includes easy-to-follow dance moves and dance sticks! Burn calories, have a blast, and groove to upbeat music. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Lodge. Try your first class for free! Punch cards are available for purchase at Canyon Lake POA office or Pool office. Classes are $36 for a six-class punch card, $40 for a seven-class punch card. Don't miss out on this fun and exciting fitness experience!

Senior Fitness Class

Enjoy fitness and fun at this senior fitness class. Improve your strength, mobility, mood, and circulation with a low impact, high energy workout! The class is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sunset Beach room at the Lodge. The class is 45 minutes. Six classes can be purchased for $36 or seven classes can be purchased for $40. Want to give a try before signing up? Try out your first class for free!

Restorative Hatha Yoga

Indulge in the blissful practice of Restorative/Hatha Yoga, a mindful class that allows you to slow down, relax, and deeply connect with your body. Join instructor Serena Estes on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the  Lodge for an experience that nurtures your body and mind. With a convenient six class punch card priced at just $36, or a seven class punch card for $40, you can easily make this practice a regular part of your wellness routine. When building a house or making any repairs, alterations, or additions to the exterior of your home or property, you must submit your plans to the Canyon Lake POA for the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) to review for approval at their weekly ACC Meeting. The property improvements posted will be reviewed at the ACC Committee Meeting on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
