Canyon Lake Property Owners Association has different member categories based on each member's relationship to the property or homeowner. Below are the different types of memberships and the privileges associated with each membership. New residents should visit the Member Services office for assistance in setting up their membership.

Prime Member
The Prime Member is the member whose name is first on the property deed. Prime members have full access to the community, use of recreational facilities and amenities, can grant guests access to the community, can attend Board Meetings and Workshops and can vote in Association elections.
Associate Member
The Associate Member is a co-owner on a property (who is not the Prime Member), the Prime Member's spouse or Prime Member's family member between the age of 14 and 21 who resides on a full-time basis with the Prime Member. Associate Members have full access to the community, use of recreational facilities and amenities, can grant guests access to the community and can attend Board Meetings and Workshops. This type of member is unable to vote in Association elections. 

Sub-Associate Member
This type of membership is reserved for immediate family members (children or parents) to the Prime Member or co-owner, who are over the age of 21. Sub-Associate Members have full access to the community and if permitted by the Prime Member, have use of recreational facilities and amenities and can grant guests access to the community. This type of member is unable to attend Board Meetings and Workshops and cannot vote in Association elections. 

This membership is only valid for 1 (one) year. The Prime Member can renew this membership by completing a Sub-Associate Member Application and providing the Association's Member Services office with proof of residency such as a major reoccurring bill (i.e. utility, cell phone, car payment etc.), bank statement, paycheck, or college transcription that is no more than 30 days old.

Resident Member
Each property can have 1 (one) Resident Member, defined as any person who is over the age of 18 and not the a Prime Member, Associate Member or Sub-Associate Member. Resident Members have full access to the community and if permitted by the Prime Member, have use of recreational facilities and amenities and can grant guests access to the community. This type of member is unable to attend Board Meetings and Workshops or vote in Association elections.

This membership is only valid for 1 (one) year. Lessees
Homeowners that lease/rent their property need to register their tenants with the Association by completing the Association's Lease Authorization Form and pay a processing fee. As an Association member, a tenant can access the community, grant guests to the access the community and use Association recreational facilities and amenities. This type of member is unable to attend Board Meetings and Workshops or vote in Association elections.

Property Manager
The Property Manager is authorized by the Prime Member to represent the homeowner. This includes establishing or removing lessees from the property, inquiring or resolving issues pertaining to the member's account and accessing or granting guests access into the community. However, Property Managers are not permitted use of Association recreational facilities and amenities, cannot attend Board Meetings and Workshops or vote in Association elections.
