Subject: Get Ready...Fiesta Day is Less than Two Months Away!

Canyon Lake, CA – With less than two months to go the Fiesta Day Committee is busy planning 2017’s Fiesta Day, Stars, Stripes & Fiesta. This year the committee is excited to introduce three new contests: Boss of the Sauce Contest, Fiesta Day’s Homemade Jam Contest, and the 2017 Parade Float Contest. The community is invited to participate in these contests for a chance to win a prize as well as bragging rights for the year (contest details coming soon!).

Favorites returning this year are the popular Kids Zone, a special magician show by the one and only Dana the Magician, the exciting reptile show, the thrilling rock climbing wall, face painting, dance performances, tube rolling on the lake, and of course the traditional parade that runs through the community starting at 9 a.m. Also, the band Hodads will return this year to perform patriotic hits throughout the day. New this year, Canyon Lake’s most courageous residents are invited to take their shot on a mechanical bull to see how long they can hang.

Want to participate in Fiesta Day? There are 105 booth spaces available for vendors which can be businesses, clubs and groups alike. Booth spaces are 12’x12’ and prizes are given for the best display of this year’s theme, “Stars, Stripes & Fiesta”. Applications for booths will be are posted on the Fiesta Day web page, www.canyonlakepoa.com/fiesta-day.

Additionally, the Fiesta Day Committee is still looking for event sponsors to help bring in even more activities. This is a great opportunity to not only make this event even better, but to advertise to more than 5,000 people in one day. This year there are four different sponsorship levels:

Platinum Sponsor – $1,000

  • Honorable Mention During Parade
  • 6 ft. x 10 ft. Banner Displayed At Event (Yours To Keep After Event)
  • Company Logo Displayed On Event Promotional Material

Canyon Lake, CA – Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (Association) is pleased to announce that a new Director of Operations has been hired, Steve Schneider, who will start with the Association on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Schneider is a degreed mechanical engineer professional who has extensive project management experience specifically in the public works sector. His specific skillset is in HVAC Construction and Control Systems Engineering, which has allowed him to manage multiple concurrent construction crews, tradesmen and projects. For more than a decade, he has managed many large scale commercial and public works projects ranging from schools, hospitals, large office buildings to airports.

The Association’s General Manager Eric Kazakoff says “We selected Steve because he offers a broad range of experience in project and construction management, which is necessary for the role here in Canyon Lake. The Director of Operations not only manages a crew of more than 30 employees, but also coordinates and manages many vendors and contractors on a wide variety of projects. Steve’s background in managing complex projects and working with the full spectrum of construction trades makes him an ideal candidate for this position.”

Horse Camp Coming to Equestrian Center

Subject: Horse Camp Coming to Equestrian Center

Canyon Lake, CA – Children can learn the wonderful world of horses during spring break by signing up for Horse Camp at the Equestrian Center. This year’s Horse Camp is for children ages 5 to 15 and will take place on April 10, April 11 and April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. all days.

The camp is designed to be a positive first introduction to horses and taught by ARIA certified trainer, Kathleen Elliott. Through horse-related games and activities, campers will learn about the care of horses, their characteristics, breeds, colors, and safe riding techniques.

This camp is $300 (daily rates also available) and there is a reservation fee of $50 (credited towards camp cost). Snacks and drinks will be provided and campers will enjoy fun horse crafts and workbooks. To sign up or for more information contact Kathleen Elliott at 951-288-0521 or email .

2017 Fiesta Day Planning Underway

Canyon Lake, CA – One of Canyon Lake’s favorite events, Fiesta Day, will celebrate its 44th anniversary on May 27, 2017. The theme this year will be “Stars, Stripes & Fiesta”, a patriotic tribute honoring all those who have served our great nation. In full swing planning mode, the Fiesta Day Committee is busy preparing for this year’s event and hopes to bring new and exciting entertainment and activities. In keeping with the all-American patriotic theme, the committee is excited to bring new contests this year such as a jam contest, barbeque sauce contest and parade float contest. Additionally, the traditional booth decorating contest will be part of the event as well.

The Fiesta Day Committee has selected two Grand Marshals this year, Nancy Carroll and Al Van Beenen. Both have been integral parts of this community and volunteered countless hours serving community groups and helping residents. A resident since 1989, Nancy was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2011 and she has volunteered for nearly 30 years on the Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee. She is also member of the Canyon Lake Lioness Club and a volunteer at the First Aid booths at various City and Association events. Al, on the other hand, is very well known amongst the water sport enthusiasts in Canyon Lake. Serving on the Ski Club for more than two decades, Al has been an essential part of developing water sports in Canyon Lake. He has taught many Canyon Lakers the basics of skiing on the Lake and he volunteers as Santa during the annual Ski Club’s Breakfast with Santa.
